“We wanted to get out of the world of New York City politics and into the world of New York City.” WHAT A LINE.

This was a master class to listen to, and I would love to see these two amazing women on tour together, teaching folks how to gather, organize, and create community. We need so much more of this creative, joyful organizing and gathering on our campaigns. I sure hope folk watch, listen, and learn.

This was such a good interview. I really, really appreciate you interviewing clients and hearing their real life examples of the concepts and strategy you teach. I'm glad you keep your educational sessions focused on concepts and strategies. But this interview was helpful because small details like, "I'm never ordering shirts again," or how to keep speakers on schedule are important. I hope you can continue these types of interviews going forward.

A friend shared this with me, and I'm so glad she did! Priya, this approach really speaks to me. I'm glad you shared the 10-point summary above, because I don't have time for videos, and I got bogged down trying to read the conversation-style transcript-- though it was nice to get a taste of the freshness of the campaign that way. Your summary above is so clear. "I feel you!" Here in Western North Carolina, so many of us discovered this joy in community working to take care of each other and recover after Hurricane Helene-- work that is ongoing . We are building on relationships and organizations that grew out of Helene to strengthen our communities' capacity to resist the impact of authoritarianism in our region, to grow our pro-democracy coalition. And we so need joy, belonging, fun, to sustain us in our work, because so much of it is heartbreaking. But we are so motivated to bring our dreams to fruition. It is heartfelt work.

PS please consider allowing non-paying subscribers to leave comments. Your work is so important-- it should not be behind a paywall. I actually paid $10 just to leave this note today. Not everyone can afford that.
